Wing Chun Lelystad

Wing Tsun, Ving Tsun of Wing Chun, het zijn allemaal verschillende benamingen voor één en dezelfde Chinese zelfverdedigingskunst. Wing Chun is ‘no nonsense’ en  gespecialiseerd in het vechten op korte afstand en kleine ruimtes zoals een bar, lift of bus. De korte en snelle technieken, de mogelijheid tot gelijktijdige aanval en verdediging, zorgen ervoor dat je ook tegen grotere en zwaardere tegenstanders kunt verweren.

Practical Wing Chun Kung Fu is door Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung ontwikkeld. Wan Kam Leung heeft de basisconcepten van de traditionele Wing Chun Kung aangepast om je beter te kunnen verdedigen tegen geweld en agressie op straat of in de bus, maar ook tegen pesten op school. Dezelfde Wan Kam Leung heeft ook Bruce Lee getraind. Meer daarover verderop in deze pagina.

Practical Wing Chun is er voor iedereen omdat de nadruk niet op kracht of lenigheid ligt, maar op concepten, structuur, hoeken en techniek. Daarom kan iedereen, man of vrouw, jong of oud Practical Wing Chun leren.

Sporten is altijd een belangrijk deel van mijn leven geweest. Tijdens mijn studie Economie was boksen de eerste kennismaking met de vechtsport en daar kwam later Judo voor in de plaats. Pas jaren later, na competitief te zijn geweest in voetbal, tennis, squash en golf werd ik door door een collega weer op het martial arts pad opgetrokken. Na eerst een paar jaar Umi Ryu Karate (een meng vorm is van Kyokusinkai, Jiu Jitsu en andere martial arts) kwam ik tijdens een seminar in aanraking met Kung Fu. Sindsdien ben ik fan van deze martial arts en train ik Practical Wing Chun onder Sifu Benno Wai en geeft ik sinds 2005 les in Lelystad. Daarnaast heb ik verschillende leraren in diverse  landen bezocht. O.a Wan Kam Leung, Gary Lam and Samuel Kwok.
